Unity Universal Baptist Church, Inc.
A vision was given by God to our leader on September 1, 2000 to begin a church
for all people. On this day, the Lord told her not to share the vision with anyone
yet. It was nine months later when she shared her vision with some of her family
members. The Lord spoke this church into her spirit 2 years and 7 months before
we were able to walk through the doors to begin the work of the vision. Unity
Universal Baptist Church came forth on April 6, 2003. The Lord blessed us to
begin our first service in the gymnasium at R.E. Davis School. Again, the vision
was given to the leader that this was the place of our beginning. God tremendously
blessed us as we began on the journey to what He purposed for us. Unity Universal
Baptist Church was initially called Unity Missionary Baptist Church before it was
open in 2003. During this time the Lord spoke to Evangelist Barbara Perry to share
with the Pastor that this church should be called “Universal” instead of
“Missionary.” After seeking the Lord more, we understood the reason for the
change. Since Unity is “A church for all people”, then this must be a church that
will reach out to all of God’s people regardless of race of an individual. The
universal church is what was birthed on the Day of Pentecost. So the name was
changed to Unity Universal Baptist Church.
The first service was awesome. Unity opened its doors for Sunday School at 9:30
AM and morning worship at 11:00 AM. The ministry began with 12 faithful
people. They were: Pastor Mattie, Brother Willie L. Malachi, Deacon Abraham
Perry, Evangelist Barbara Perry, Jeremiah Perry, Christina Perry, Sister Brenda
Richardson, Brandon McCrea, Keith Richardson, Danielle Richardson, Sister Bessie
Seymore and Beatrice Seymore. The first message from the pastor was
“Faithfulness to God Produces Fruit in the Land.” Since then the Lord has
continuously blessed us to add to the flock.

Church Covenant: The Bible Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it. (Psalm 119:140) KJV
Vision Statement: And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He
who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs
will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they
will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on
the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18) KJV
Mission Statement: The mission of Unity Universal Baptist Church is based on the Apostle’s Doctrine that’s
found in Acts 2:42-43. Our mission is to train believers in uniformity in the belief of Jesus Christ, in the
fellowship of the Church, in the breaking of bread and in discipline of prayer, for corporate prayer is essential
for the spiritual growth of the church. And we also believe that wonders and signs validate the work of the
ministry. (1 John 1:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Acts 2:1, Hebrews 2:3-4) KJV
Value Statement: And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some
pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ till we all come to the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the
measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-14) KJV
Declaration: Unity Universal Baptist Church is a church for ALL Races of people.
